ANTHONY T. "TONY" SMITH joined Hellmuth & Johnson, PLLC with extensive experience representing injured parties affected by catastrophic injuries – experience gained at a nationally recognized plaintiff's law firm.
He has worked on a wide range of cases involving dram shop (liquor) liability, product defects, and human error. These include litigation on behalf of the heirs and next of kin of people who lost their lives in the 1998 Saint Cloud gas explosion, and dram shop litigation against one of the nation's largest fraternal organizations. These cases helped shape his reputation as an aggressive litigator and advocate for victims' rights.
Smith knows that businesses and insurers will vigorously defend catastrophic injury cases. Therefore, he recognizes that people with catastrophic injuries need an attorney who will zealously advocate for them and their interests. He understands that thorough investigation and trial preparation, as well as constant communication, is crucial to serving his clients.
Smith was named to the 2007 and 2008 "Rising Star" list by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine, represented among the top 2.5% of his peers. He has also appeared on FOX 29 TV discussing Minnesota dram shop laws. (See the clip here...)
Smith obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Minnesota in 2001, and graduated summa cum laude from Hamline University with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology in 1997. |
